Relationship Therapy for Individual Women in Morrison, CO & across CO, AZ, CT, IL, MA, VA & FL

Every relationship in your life starts with the one you have with yourself.

Relationships just seem easier for other people.

Sometimes it feels like everyone else just knows how relationships are supposed to work, while you're left trying to put together the puzzle with missing pieces.

You might avoid bringing up what's bothering you because it feels safer than risking the relationship altogether, but then are worried that they're mad at you anyway. Or you find that the people you're closest to take more than they give, leaving you feeling disappointed and unseen.

The loneliness creeps in when you look around and it seems like all your friends are either in long term relationships, or else they actually seem to be having fun dating. You don’t want to be on all the apps - they just feel so forced and fake - but how else are you supposed to meet someone?

Or maybe you're already in a relationship, but it often feels like you’re their caretaker rather than an equal partner.  You see so much potential, but they’re just not living up to it…yet. It would be nice to feel taken care of by someone else sometimes.

With all this going on, you find yourself missing home only to go for a visit and realize your parents still don't understand you at all.

Rather than ask you any questions about your life, they talk endlessly about themselves, your sibling, or worse - politics. You've always been the one who did well in school, didn't get in trouble, got into a good college...so they just assumed you were "fine". But as much as you try to pretend otherwise, you are not at all fine. When you leave, you feel worse than you did before.

We'll start with strengthening your relationship with yourself.

When you become a friend to yourself everything else begins to feel easier. You’re able to say ‘no’ as needed, to set and hold healthy boundaries, to make decisions about how you want  (or don't want) to be in relationships with others. You feel comfortable in your own skin and content when you have alone time.

Remember - the only person who will always be there for you is you, so let's make sure that relationship is solid.
